DASCA offers two levels of global certification programs in this track: the Associate Big Data Engineer (ABDE™) Credential sharply targeted at graduating tech–school engineering students readying for starting their careers in software engineering with the Big Data industry; and the Senior Big Data Engineer (SBDE™) Credential, which is designed for experienced programmers and software engineers who intend to move into the Big Data space or want to grow faster in their career. The ABDE™ and SBDE™ Credentials are awarded to those applicants who have successfully cleared the 100–minutes DASCA online examinations for these certifications, configured around the DASCA Essential Knowledge Framework. These examinations are managed and delivered entirely by DASCA across 183 countries.
Promising performance–assuring exposures to a compelling breadth of open–source and proprietary Big Data platforms, technologies, and environments, the DASCA–Associate Big Data Developers and Engineers come successfully tested for their level–appropriate understanding and knowledge of the entire spectrum of areas that decide their promise and potential for designing, engineering, and developing a complex 21st century Big Data Management System. Their fundamentals on Information Technology as well as Software Designing, Data Structures, Programming, and Analytical Abilities also stand successfully examined and found duly informed by their knowledge of the latest concepts, principles, methods, tools, and techniques deployed in Big Data management today.
These DASCA Credential-holders exhibit level–appropriate, DASCA-EKF™–calibrated knowledge of popular Big Data platforms, including Hadoop and Spark. They have also tested successful for their diverse exposure to a cross-section of all popular Big Data distributions like Hortonworks and Cloudera. Not the least, the DASCA credentialed Big Data Developers and Engineers display exam–tested knowledge of aspects related to operating proprietary as well as open–source developer tools like HBase, Hive, Pig, and HiveQL, among others. The candidacy norms for the two ensure that all credential-holders exhibit at least a working knowledge of statistics at the time of applying to DASCA for the credential.
Well–equipped with a complete understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and the challenges of their profession, DASCA–Associate Big Data Developers and Engineers show level–appropriate proficiencies in back–end OOPS programming as well as knowledge of how to write high–performance, reliable, and maintainable codes and programs for clustered scale–out data processing on commonly used Big Data platforms.
The ABDE™ and SBDE™ Credentials validate the promise and potential of software professionals to enter, perform, and grow in the Big Data space and perform effectively as Big Data Developers and Engineers in a rapidly evolving and changing technology landscape.
The ABDE™ and SBDE™ Credentials have robust, research–backed structures built after rigorous research on Big Data industry trends. They focus on validating knowledge and proficiency in areas that impact performance of developers and engineers most critically.
DASCA is entirely an independent certification body and not a technology developer or an owner of a proprietary Big Data platform. This makes ABDE™ and SBDE™ the world’s first neutral, pan–platform and BoEK™–centered globally recognized big data credentials.
The DASCA Big Data Engineer Certifications evaluate knowledge of applicants in all performance–critical areas to ensure the ABDE™ and SBDE™ credentialed possess demonstrated knowledge and abilities of high levels required for designing, developing, engineering, customizing, and implementing state–of–the–art Big Data systems.
The ABDE™ and SBDE™ Credentials are now available worldwide and registrations can be made online. While the certification examinations can be taken across 183 countries around the world, the official DASCA examination preparation material is provided at the time of registration to all applicants at no extra costs.
Although the highest levels of research and validation rigor marked the development of the ABDE™ and SBDE™ Credentials into truly universal qualifications, the process of accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and/or the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) is also due to commence.
