UAJY - Indonesia’s Prestigious Higher Education Institution Is Now DASCA Accredited

Leading the charge of creating pools of employable human resources, Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta is one of the top 10 high-potential Indonesian private academic institutions according to QS AUR. Continuing its efforts to invigorate the quality and impact of data science education, UAJY has now got itself included in the World Data Science Initiative, under which its industrial engineering programs got accredited by the Data Science Council of America, the world's foremost data science credentialing body.

Indonesia needs a large number of its own indigenous trained and certified technology talents to fuel its economic growth. Explaining the DASCA accreditation, Mr. The Jin Ai, the Vice Rector of Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, says, “At UAJY, we strive to adopt the cutting-edge inter-disciplinary knowledge in our curricula and the way we deliver education. Getting our programs DASCA-accredited will be a big impetus for us because DASCA accreditation rigorously audits, vets, and validates institutionalized systems, standards, and processes on knowledge transfer and teaching-learning in data science.”

DASCA Accreditation equips institutions with curricula, content, and programs that educate and train students in vendor-neutral knowledge and prepares them for working across multiple data science platforms, ecosystems, tools, and environments focusing on the learning and career outcomes that students need to derive from their investments in the institution. DASCA accreditation assessments examine the entire education apparatus's structural, operational, and deliverable aspects, including program curricula, industry-interface quality, faculty, facilities, and institutional support. The accreditation will help UAJY rapidly adopt and internalize the latest global data science curricula in its academic coursework.
